Rosalind Kainyah MBE is an authority, speaker and trusted advisor on Sustainability to business leaders. She has over 30 years of combined international legal, executive and board level experience in companies and organisations including Linklaters, De Beers, Tullow Oil and the United Nations Environment Programme. During her career she has worked on projects across Africa, Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the South Pacific and is a mentor and a connector of people and opportunities.  

Rosalind is a Non-Executive Director on a number of boards. She is known for having a rare level of strategic insight and for providing highly credible and pragmatic advice to boards and business leaders.

Rosalind Kainyah MBE is an authority, speaker and trusted advisor on Sustainability to business leaders, with over 30 years of combined international legal, executive and board level experience in companies and organisations including De Beers, Tullow Oil, Linklaters, Anglo American and the United Nations Environment Programme.

 

Her deep and broad Sustainability expertise and experience have been forged over three decades of working for and with multinational companies, local businesses, government agencies, development finance institutions, private equity funds, and international organisations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, North and South America, and Asia.

 

She currently serves on the boards of discoverIE plc (a London listed FTSE 250 company), Gem Diamonds Limited (a London Stock Exchange listed company), BTE Renewables, (a private equity owned renewable energy company), WE Soda, the world’s largest producer of natural soda ash and TheBoardroom Africa (TBrA), a private membership network of women executives in Africa. She is also a Senior Advisor to Actis LLP and a trustee and Vice Chair of the Africa Gifted Foundation.

 

Rosalind is a Member of Duke Corporate Education's Global Educator Network, ESG Leadership Academy and a Member of the Faculty of industry experts for TheBoardroom Africa’s ESG Certificate programme.

 

In 2014 Rosalind was awarded an MBE for services to Corporate Social Responsibility for the benefit of youth in Africa.  In 2023 she was recognised as part of 2023 Champions for Change by Reuters Events ESG Investment. In 2021 she was recognised by the International Women’s Forum as a Woman Who Makes a Difference.  In 2019 she was selected as one of the top 50 leading female professionals by Cranfield University, and in 2016 named by Forbes Afrique Magazine as one of the 100 influential women on the African continent.  She was nominated as one of Britain’s most influential people of African and African Caribbean heritage by The Power List in 2008.

 

Rosalind holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Ghana, a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London, and a Master of Laws degree from University College, London.  She is a member of the Bar of England & Wales and of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
